The members of the team work in the Libre movement. It is in a spirit of sharing and community that the movement wishes to advance whatever challenges society brings us. We believe that the Libre is the ideal way to solve major crises and achieve technological advancements, because it is based on the solutions of people from various horizons, everything is open and the individual does not directly benefit from the solutions for his personal profit, but as part of the advancement of the community.
Health, physical and mental, is a universal need. SantéLibre brings together people who value access to care for all free and quickly. In times of pandemic, experts from the hospital and research communities show dedication and perseverance, even in crisis conditions. Our mission: to be a technological platform, open, collaborative and agile, developed in the context of the COVID 19 crisis, in order to make the link between the needs in personal protective equipment of the Quebec health system and the offer of companies from Quebec wanting to participate in the collective effort, and this at all stages of the supply chain.
Great upheavals have always been the source of great innovations. What distinguishes the COVID19 pandemic is our modern communication capacity, our scientific knowledge and our technological capacity. By joining forces for the benefit of society, I have no doubt that we can develop technologies to save lives today, and even more tomorrow.
In a worldwide crisis, there’s no boundaries allowed and the strongest weapon is UNITY in this fight. Providing a worldwide easy access to ventilators could significantly improve the survival rate of the most critical cases affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, and maybe better prepare the world to face any sudden major healthcare crisis.
In these difficult times, everybody's life is being deeply changed. Our entire way of apprehending life is being challenged by this virus, that is basically forcing us to realise that we are not so different after all. As a healthcare professional, it really means a lot when I see people coming together , joining forces to help out in this crisis. This efforts need to be highlighted and remembered for the people who will follow us to know about the heroes in the shade.
A crisis like the one we are currently experiencing gives us the opportunity to contemplate both our strengths and weaknesses as a community and as a society. Promptly, interprofessional collaboration prevailed and must be emphasized, whether it leads to concrete results or not. The outcome of this pandemic remains to be defined; however, it will undoubtedly have brought out a strength of our society, which I hope will continue even when better times will come.
